Description: Allison presents a vulnerable self-portrait of a woman experiencing the angst of a breakup. While narrating letters written to her ex, she attempts to cast away the lingering shadows of the relationship. Images of nature mix with broken textures, representing the struggle to overcome feelings of rejection and failure.

Description: Lost in life with many options. Sometimes a sad voyeur on the outside looking in. Sometimes choices take us places we don’t want to go, but we can’t unchoose. Doors open or close over time, stuck in stages. We must become the creator of our own destiny and take back control.

Production Notes: This is a One Take Super 8, shot sequentially on one roll of Super 8m film and not edited.


Tarotic Introspections

Description: Over the course of a year, I asked several psychics about the future of my love life. They told me I need to date myself first.

Production Notes: This is a stop motion animation using paper-cut out of tarot cards. The audio uses recordings from actual tarot readings. It was shot sequentially with no editing for the 2018 WNDX One Take Super 8.


Love Starved: More Than Fat

Description: Allison explores her personal history through journals, artwork, and family photos to overcome her shame about her body. When her childhood medical records reveal that she was obese at 3 years old, she questions when being fat became a choice. As she reflects on the negative messages that have been imprinted upon her body, she must confront her core insecurities.
